Math homework gives students a chance to practice and reinforce what we have learned in class that day. Your child should be bringing home math homework AND

MEANINGFUL SENTENCES Students need to ask themselves, "Can someone understand the meaning of the word based on the sentence I wrote?"

EXAMPLES:   (Not a meaningful sentence): I prepared for my camping trip.

(A meaningful sentence): I prepared for my camping trip by packing my suitcase, getting the                                                                                tent ready, and finding my flashlight.

NIGHTLY HOMEWORK

Each night students should spend about an hour on homework.

Students are responsible every night for

Math Homework, Spelling Homework and RAH (Reading at Home).

Binder Reminders should be signed every night, once students complete homework.

Teachers will check Binder Reminders every morning.

Please be aware that homework is never assigned over the weekend. However, if students do not finish their classwork, it becomes weekend homework.
